Brief
- UNDP Kenya partnered with GoK and Microsoft to launch two projects in the country, Regional Centre of Competence and Timbuktoo Greentech Hub. To achieve great results in planning, branding, and publicity for the event, UNDP Kenya contracted Duo Dynamics to provide the services of Creative strategy development, Development and execution of Media and Communication Plan, Social Media Content Development to enhance visibility before, during and after the launch of the African Center of Competence and the timbuktoo GreenTech Hub, hosted at the Kenya School of Government and Konza Technopolis, respectively.
Approach
Brand Strategy
- We developed a strong, cohesive brand identity for the RCoC that aligns with its mission of fostering regional cooperation, knowledge sharing, and innovation. The logo effectively conveyed themes of connectivity and regional unity. The map of Africa with interconnected lines highlighted RCoC’s mission to bridge technological gaps across the continent, fostering collaboration and skill-building in digital and AI sectors. The logo colors—green, blue, yellow, and orange—each hold specific meanings. Green represents growth and sustainability, blue signifies intelligence and trust, yellow reflects optimism and knowledge, while orange brings an element of energy and innovation. These colors collectively emphasize the dynamic and progressive role of RCoC in digital skill development.
- The bold blue typography exudes professionalism and reliability. A vertical line with black, red, and green segments adds a unifying touch, underscoring the organization’s African identity and commitment to regional progress. The tagline, in a subtle gray tone, supports the design without overshadowing the primary elements.
Event Management
- We organised a presidential event at Konza City to launch the two projects. We handled all aspects of the event from invites, set-up – tents, seats, live streaming, catering (VVIP, VIP and ordinary guests), LED screens, and overall coordination on the day of the event.
Videography and Photography
- We managed content development and dissemination of the project. We documented the launch event through photos and videos disseminating live photos and videos for social media. We also held post event interviews for attendees and the cohort to get their reactions and feedback. The photos and videos were uploaded on a drive allowing access to the content on the go.
Branding and Production
- To increase brand visibility for the new brand, we branded project laptops to be used by UNDP. We also produced media banners and T-shirts for the project ensuring they are of high quality and meet the standards from client.
Social Media Content
- We also developed social media posters that aided in communicating about the new projects. From countdown posters to speaker quotes and animated posters, we were able to create several formats that were disseminated throughout the project period.
